  • Sensient

Covabsorb® products (Sensient Technologies) are a range of carefully selected blends of UV absorbers with antioxidant properties that are designed to protect dyes and fragrances from oxidation in the formulated product. Fragrances and dyes are particularly sensitive to oxidation catalysed by UV radiation.

By selection of the appropriate grade of Covabsorb® (Covabsorb® Covabsorb® EW, & Covabsorb® DS) it is possible to protect the finished product from colour and fragrance change during shelf life. Covabsorb® is an oil/alcohol soluble liquid, and its primary application is for colour protection of perfumes. It has no colour impact on the formulation, does not affect the fragrance, and can be used in clear or transluscent packaging.

Covabsorb® EW is a water-soluble version of Covabsorb® that can be used is a wide variety of water-based formulations above pH 6.6.

Covabsorb® DS is highly recommended for colour and fragrance protection in rinse-off personal care products (Showergel, shampoo, cleanser, toners, gels. etc.) below pH 6.8.
