NAB Asafetida Extract is an extract of Ferula foetida. Traditionally, the resin extracted from the roots has been used in many Indian and Chinese
medicines. The main constituents of the resin are complex carbohydrates, ferulic acid esters, essential oils, and terpenes.
NAB Asafetida Extract has been shown to exhibit excellent anti-tyrosinase activity making it an ideal ingredient for skin lightening applications.
In-vitro testing (human epidermis) and in-vivo testing of NAB Asafetida Extract was performed to determine its skin lightening ability in comparison
to more traditionally used ingredients such as hydroquinone and kojic acid. The results show conclusively that it is effective in-vivo at levels of only
1.0% to 2.0%.
NAB Asafetida Extract is recommended for evening out of skin tone and reducing age-spots and hyper-pigmentation caused by sun damage and actinic
ageing.
