LipolightŪ OAP/PVA is a unique, patented
luminescent ingredient that emits and diffuses visible light to dramatically reduce the appearance of skin imperfections. The 5-6 micron particles are undetectable by the naked eye and consist of a core of a fluorescent compound fixed to a microporous nylon matrix,
encapsulated with a crosslinked polyvinylalcohol (PVA).
LipolightŪ OAP/PVA
combines two mechanisms for reducing the appearance of skin imperfections: fluorescent
light emission and light diffusion. A fluorescent compound is
chemically fixed to a microporous nylon-12 support, and encapsulated with a translucent polymer coating. The fluorescent compound incorporated into the polymer absorbs UV light
and re-emits that energy as diffuse visible light. The emitted light illuminates the
shadowed areas of wrinkles, enlarged pores and other skin imperfections, thus significantly
reducing their appearance.
In
addition, the structure of the particle combined with its encapsulation coating diffuses the
light reflected from the skins surface giving a soft-focus effect, thus further reducing the
appearance of skin imperfections. The products unique optical effect is due to an
interaction of fluorescence, diffusion, and light scattering by the particles.
