Hydrillien 9 is the latest introduction from Lipo Chemicals Inc. A unique polymeric associative thickener and emulsion stabiliser that consists of alternating hydrophobic “hard blocks” and
hydrophilic “soft blocks”.
The hard blocks associate in water while the soft blocks remain hydrated, resulting in a three-dimensional network forming a
pseudoplastic hydrogel.
Supplied as a gel particle at approximately 20% active matter, Hydrillien 9 is easily processed into clear gels and can form stable, water-dilutable
emulsions with various oils and esters. The gels can be spread into very thin layers, forming an ultra-thin continuous film that has a smooth and non-tacky
feel. It acts as a detacifier for oils and carbomers and it imparts good yield value to gels and emulsions. It is compatible with many polymers, has good
electrolyte tolerance and can be used in a wide range of skin and hair formulations.
