Geogard™ ECT (previously Mikrokill ECT) is a new unique, patent pending preservative combination of 4 components; Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerin, and Sorbic Acid, which are well accepted in a wide range of personal care products. The novel composition of this antimicrobial blend offers broad spectrum protection in a diverse range of products, against Gram-positive & Gram-negative bacteria, yeast, and moulds.

Lonza Personal Care has recognized the growing market need for a cosmetic preservative that has wide global regulatory acceptance along with ECOCERT acceptance. Due to customers requiring ECOCERT approved ingredients as well as the continued concern with conventional preservative systems based upon Formaldehyde donors, Parabens, Isothiazolones they have developed Geogard™ ECT to meet the more stringent needs of todays market. It is a versatile, clear liquid preservative system that can be easily added directly to most systems and is compatible with most ingredients used in the Personal Care Industry. For emulsified systems, it can be easily integrated into the pre-emulsification steps in the oil phase or post-emulsification steps.

FormulaProtect™ is a new interactive, online application developed by Lonza that allows formulators to save time and easily identify preservatives that best suit their specific needs.
